Why homeowners choose Mountain Peak Roofing & Exteriors

Choosing a roofer is hard because every bid looks similar on paper and the work that separates a good roof from a bad one is buried under the shingles where you will never see it. Here is exactly how we work, so you can judge us against anyone else you are talking to.

Locally and privately owned

We are not a franchise and we are not a storm-chasing crew passing through after a hailstorm. Mountain Peak Roofing & Exteriors is privately owned and works throughout the State of Utah, which means the person who inspects your roof is accountable to you long after the dumpster leaves. When you call the number on this site, you reach the company that did the work, not a call center in another state.

Honest recommendations, including the cheap ones

Plenty of roofs we look at do not need to be replaced. Sometimes the fix is a pipe boot, a length of step flashing, or clearing a gutter run that is holding water at an eave. We will tell you that even when it is a smaller job for us, because a homeowner who was told the truth once tends to call back and tends to tell a neighbor. If a roof genuinely is at the end of its life, we will show you the photos and the reasons rather than asking you to take it on faith.

Estimates in 24-48 hours

Waiting a week for a number is not a plan, especially with an active leak or an insurance deadline. After the free inspection, we get a written estimate to you within 24-48 hours in almost every case, with the scope, materials, and options spelled out so you can compare it fairly against anyone else's bid.

5 year warranty on all workmanship

Manufacturer warranties cover the shingle. They do not cover the installation, and installation is where most roofs fail. We back all of our workmanship with a 5 year warranty, in writing, on top of whatever the material manufacturer provides. That warranty is only meaningful because we install to the details it depends on: proper nailing patterns, correctly lapped underlayment, real flashing instead of caulk, and balanced intake and exhaust ventilation.

One crew for the whole exterior

Roof, gutters, soffit, fascia, and siding are one water management system, and leaks love the seams between trades. Because we handle all of it, kickout flashing gets installed at eave-to-wall transitions, gutters get pitched to the downspouts that actually exist, and nobody blames the other guy when water shows up in a wall.

Clean sites and clear communication

You will know when the crew arrives, where the dumpster and materials go, and what happens if weather moves the schedule. We tarp landscaping, keep the driveway usable where we can, and run a magnet sweep of the yard and drive at the end of every working day, then again at the final walkthrough.

Questions worth asking any roofer

  • Is the estimate a tear-off to the deck, or a recover over the existing layer?
  • Does the scope include replacing pipe boots, step flashing, and valley metal, or reusing them?
  • What underlayment is being installed, and how is it lapped in valleys?
  • How is attic ventilation being balanced between intake and exhaust?
  • What is covered by the workmanship warranty, for how long, and is it in writing?
  • Who is on site running the crew, and how do I reach them during the job?

We answer all six in writing on every estimate. If another contractor cannot, that gap is usually where the price difference is hiding.
